This week we will work on learning more about word parts as a vocabulary strategy. Additionally, our big goal is to build our background knowledge for our next unit of study in groups as part of a group challenge project.

This week we will finish up our historical context projects and begin reading the play "The Diary of Anne Frank." We will do this reading in new literature circle groups. Next week, this literature circle work will become a center!

This week we will prepare for and engage in literature circle discussions based on characterization and the text The Diary of Anne Frank (play). We will also write haiku poems for possible publication in Young Poets Digest and begin preparing a Socratic seminar next week!
